Busted, Flat

Where toys go to die.

Lola's New Toy

I bought a basketball today and Lola immediately claimed it as her new toy. Within 3 minutes of playing with it, she had managed to puncture it. She then spent the next minute eyeing it suspiciously as it hissed - getting down and barking manically at it. Since the ball did not retaliate, she determined it was not about to bite her and resumed playing with it.

Even though this ball will be quite deflated in the next 24 hours, it will still be a great toy. We had a "yard" basketball before and despite it being flat and I think being wedged one winter in the blades of the snow blower - it still served as a fabulous dog toy.

UPDATE: Just looked outside and the ball is totally flat! (see next post).

Berk and Ali

Berk (Dylan x Pal son) having a roaring good time on Wakaw Lake, SK. with Ali. I've also been told that Berk protects "his girls" (Ali and her sisters and friends) when they have "hen parties" at the cottage. He will not let any strangers on the property. Good Boy!

Getting the Perfect Shot

One of the show photos of Bogart was done with the great skill of photographer, Cathy French. Bogart was not co-operating on Friday when we were trying to get his Group 4 picture. He would look everywhere but where we wanted him to look. We tried throwing toys, food, calling his name...nothing. All I could do was laugh!

So, the following day Peter had come to the show with me and with his assistance (getting Bogart's attention off camera), Bogart perked his ears and threw his weight up over his shoulders and we got "the shot". Cathy, then photoshopped the judge, Fred Dewsbury, from the follow day into the new picture...and a star is born!

I really like this photo from Friday though.

My Boyfriend

I had a very good weekend at the dog show in Saskatoon. I entered Bogart and Lola. Bogart is 8 years old and well, he is my boyfriend. This was his last weekend to be a show dog since he will be undergoing surgery on Tuesday for lump and wart removal as well as being neutered. The old boy did very well - earning two Group IVs.

Pictured below - my boyfriend - Am/Can. Ch. Kasablanca-L-Sin's Heart Throb with Judge Fred Dewsbury and then Judge David Eadie.
